I For One Welcome Our New Robot Overlords

I’m not sure how I feel about this video, such a strong mix of emotions. Wonder, delight, terror, and genuine sympathy are all mixed in there. The video showcases a new version of of Atlas, an electrically powered and hydraulically actuated robot designed by Boston Dynamics. As with Big Dog this is a robot that moves in a decidedly life like manner, only this time on two legs rather than four. The technology on display here is simply amazing, but also makes the inevitable robot apocalypse seem all the closer. And when you see the engineers pushing the thing around towards the end of the video I defy any one not to at least consider siding with the robots in the coming war.
